Toyota renews the bZ4X: efficiency, design and more technology
The model maintains its characteristic design, but debuts improvements, in addition to a simplified range with two more capable engines
Toyota doesn't stop and has now decided to give its first electric SUV a boost with a renewal that seeks to make it more competitive and efficient. Although the bZ4X has always stood out for its futuristic design and practical approach, the Japanese brand is now focusing on mechanical and technological adjustments aimed at improving its real-world on-road performance and user experience.

This redesign isn't an aesthetic revolution, and that's precisely the intention: to maintain the model's identity while reinforcing the aspects that users value most, such as range, cargo capacity, and comfort.

With three years on the market, a key moment has arrived for the bZ4X to remain competitive against rivals that arrive each season with more aggressive offerings.
A more focused range with better performance
The update brings with it a restructuring of the mechanical options. In other markets, three versions are offered, but Toyota has decided to simplify its range, abandoning the entry-level version with 167 hp and a 57.7 kWh battery. Therefore, the model available now starts directly with a more powerful option with greater range. The base version—if it can be called that—offers 224 hp, accompanied by a 73.1 kWh battery that allows for a homologated consumption of 13.9 kWh/100 km and a range of up to 569 km. With these figures, the bZ4X positions itself as one of the most efficient models in its segment. Above this is the 343 hp variant, also equipped with the 73.1 kWh battery, although with higher consumption, rated at 15.9 kWh/100 km, which translates into a homologated range of 468 km. This option stands out especially for its all-wheel drive system, designed both to improve stability and to enable a more adventurous approach. The improvements are noticeable in both models thanks to adjustments in the suspension and bodywork, which aim to reduce vibrations.to reduce noise and offer a more refined ride. The more powerful version adds features geared towards off-road use, such as low-speed grip control, a 360-degree camera, 500 mm wading depth, and the X-MODE system, ideal for mud, snow, or challenging surfaces.
Updated equipment: technology, comfort, and a clearer range
The bZ4X's offering is structured around two trim levels, each associated with a specific engine. The first is the Advance, which improves upon the initial generation's features.
It includes 18-inch wheels, LED headlights with dynamic adjustment, a power tailgate, mixed upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-inch central screen with Toyota Smart Connect, and an 11 kW onboard charger.
The top-of-the-line Spirit significantly elevates the experience, establishing itself as the most complete option in the range.
This version includes 20-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror, synthetic leather upholstery, heated, ventilated, and electrically adjustable front seats with memory. It also offers heated rear seats, radiant front heaters, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a two-tone body, an automatic parking system, and a 22 kW onboard charger. 2025 Toyota bZ4X Prices
