Rivian has experienced a significant surge in momentum with the launch of its latest electric SUV, enabling the company to accelerate its growth trajectory.

The 2027 Kia EV6 will retain its existing lineup of seven trim levels, with no changes to its configuration.

The Rivian R2 has achieved the highest sales volume among the brand's models and surpassed the combined sales of the R1T and R1S trucks, previously the company's top-selling vehicles.

Ford has conceptualized an innovative vehicle design that remains stationary, but with a twist - it is intentionally left in a vulnerable state to deter thieves, rather than being actively secured.

The company's third quarter 2026 financial performance was marked by significant growth. During the July to September period, the company reported a substantial increase in vehicle deliveries, with 19,248 units sold, representing a 46% rise compared to the same quarter in the previous year. Furthermore, the company's revenue reached $2,155 million, a notable 38% increase.

The introduction of the new SUV has had a substantial impact on the company's operations, with its financial reports indicating that the R2 model has surpassed both the R1 family and the EDV commercial vans in terms of production volume.

Rivian has disclosed that the R2 model experienced significant growth, ultimately surpassing sales of other models to become the company's top-selling vehicle, although the exact number of units delivered for each model was not provided.

Production at the Normal, Illinois facility has surpassed expectations, with the plant now producing 19,751 units of the model on a quarterly basis. In response to strong demand, the company has implemented a second production shift to further increase output.

Following a strong commercial performance, the manufacturer has revised its year-end projections upward. It now anticipates delivering between 67,000 and 70,000 vehicles, a slight increase from its previous forecast of 65,000 to 70,000 units.

The company anticipates that the R2 will be the primary contributor to its shipments in the fourth quarter, a development crucial to solidifying growth and capitalizing on the significant interest generated in the United States by the new SUV.

The current incentive is only available for the Performance model, the highest-priced variant in the lineup.

The base price of the R2 Performance model with the Launch Package is $57,990, increasing to $59,485 when destination charges are factored in.

The vehicle's advanced powertrain configuration yields a maximum output of 656 horsepower, enabling it to reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds. Additionally, it is estimated to achieve a maximum range of up to 330 miles on a single charge.

The company is developing additional options to enhance its product offerings.

The price disparity between Rivian's models may be a crucial factor in attracting a broader customer base. The initial price points for the R1T and R1S models are set at $81,885 and $85,885, respectively.

The brand is also working on a separate initiative in collaboration with Uber, aiming to introduce a fleet of autonomous taxis, with this SUV being a key component of that project.
