A 28-year-old man was detained by elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, after being surprised when he tried to hide the body of his partner, a 19-year-old girl.

According to the first reports, neighbors of the building where everything happened requested the support of the authorities after hearing screams and blows during the early hours of the morning.

Hours later, a woman observed unusual movements of one of the residents, who was handling black bags in the patio of the property, so she alerted the police again.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the man while he was allegedly trying to hide the victim's remains. During the inspection of the home, they located a machete and other evidence that was seized by ministerial personnel to integrate them into the investigation.

The victim was identified as a 19-year-old girl, who was in a romantic relationship with the alleged aggressor.

Experts from the Prosecutor's Office carried out the corresponding work on the property to collect evidence and transfer the body to the Forensic Medical Service.

The case has generated outrage among residents of the area and organizations that demand clarification of the facts and justice for the victim, in a context where feminicide violence continues to be one of the main challenges in Mexico City.
