An Arizona man was arrested after being accused of breaking into a Union Pacific locomotive and riding naked on the roof of the train as it traveled through northeastern Colorado, authorities said.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Daniel Ray Ballance, a resident of Quartzsite, Arizona.

According to the investigation, Ballance broke a window to enter the locomotive and subsequently climbed onto the roof while the train continued moving.

Witnesses alerted authorities

The sheriff's office indicated that several people reported seeing a completely naked man on the locomotive.

After receiving the calls, officers located the suspect and arrested him.

Authorities said Ballance faces felony and misdemeanor charges, although court documents detailing the allegations have not been publicly released so far.

After the arrest, the Sheriff's Office shared the suspect's booking photo along with a message posted on social media.

In the publication, authorities reported that the man was arrested after several people witnessed him traveling naked on the train.

Likewise, they indicated that during the contact with the agents Ballance commented that he liked vodka, beer and playing the banjo.

The sheriff's office added, in a humorous tone, that the suspect had been separated from those activities and the train tour to remain detained while the judicial process progresses.

Authorities also recalled that Ballance is presumed innocent until a court determines otherwise.

According to the information released by the authorities, the suspect entered the locomotive after breaking a window.

So far it has not been reported what caused the incident or if any member of the train crew was injured.

Ballance remains held in the Sedgwick County Jail as the investigation continues.
