A 44-year-old woman, Dawn Marie Freeman, has been accused of fatally shooting her husband in Pennsylvania, allegedly following a domestic dispute over the storage of a firearm in their residence.

A 40-year-old man, Bradley Freeman, has died, prompting charges against Freeman, who now faces multiple counts, including manslaughter and reckless endangerment, as outlined in court records.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to a residence on Mine Road in Adams Township on Sunday, October 4, at approximately 6:37 p.m., following a request for assistance from the local police department in connection with a death investigation.

An investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between Dawn Freeman and her husband escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in the discharge of a firearm and the fatal shooting of Bradley Freeman.

State police officials have confirmed that there is currently no credible threat to public safety.

A recently obtained probable cause statement provides further insight into the events that unfolded within the residence.

Dawn Freeman informed investigators that her husband had a habit of leaving a 9mm firearm in locations that were uninsured and accessible to children for a period of at least two years.

A woman reported discovering a gun on a table in her home upon her return on Sunday.

Freeman stated that he had expressed his concerns to his husband about the gun being left in a location he deemed hazardous, and that his husband had declined to relocate it to a safer area.

Dawn Freeman reportedly became enraged after her husband refused something, retrieved a gun, and aimed it at his chest, pulling the trigger with the intention of disciplining him.

Bradley Freeman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

A woman reported to investigators that following the shooting, she witnessed her husband collapse onto the floor of the room, with his face positioned downwards.

Dawn Freeman's child was present inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

A 911 call was made by the young man's mother, while he administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an attempt to save the individual's life.

Emergency responders subsequently arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of Bradley Freeman.

An autopsy conducted by forensic expert Jeff Lees in Cambria County on Monday revealed that the individual's death was caused by a bullet wound to the chest.

Dawn Freeman reportedly told detectives during a volunteer interview that for an extended period, he had repeatedly urged his husband to refrain from storing the firearm in locations that posed a risk to safety.

The woman told investigators that she was concerned about potential harm resulting from her husband's handling of the firearm, specifically the manner in which he dropped it.

Dawn Freeman was taken into custody over the weekend and subsequently presented herself in court on Monday for a hearing on the charges against her.

According to court documents, the individual in question is being held at the Cambria County Prison without the option for bail.

He is also charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment of another person, in addition to the charge of murder.

An ongoing inquiry seeks to determine the events surrounding the shooting incident.
