Actress Maribel Guardia has announced that she will testify before the Mexico City General Justice Prosecutor's Office, further pursuing a criminal complaint filed against her ex-girlfriend, Imelda Tuñón, for alleged homicide and potential health-related offenses.
A recent judicial development aims to shed light on the alleged unlawful provision of psychotropic substances to Julián Figueroa in the days leading up to his death in April 2023. This aspect of the investigation gained momentum after Tuñón's own revelations in the podcast "Mesa Cero", in which he confessed to deceiving his psychiatrist to obtain prescriptions for the drugs, which he then provided to the singer.
A Costa Rican artist, speaking to Mexican media, stated that she will maintain confidentiality regarding the technical aspects of the process, as instructed by her legal team. She declined to comment further, citing her lawyer's advice to remain silent until she presents herself at the prosecutor's office to update the investigation folder initiated by her lawyers, which is scheduled for the following day.
Guardia expressed concern regarding the departure of his 7-year-old grandson, José Julián, from the country, following Tuñón's recent departure. While acknowledging a mother's right to travel with her child, Guardia stated that he is worried about the lack of accurate information regarding the child's current location.
The interpreter stated that she has not received any official notification regarding alleged protective measures reportedly requested by Tuñón on her behalf. In response to inquiries about past behavior, she cited a previously shared video featuring affectionate messages from Julián Figueroa, asserting that these comments serve as a testament to her work as a mother.
