In the midst of the promotional tour of her most recent film projects, Anne Hathaway surprised her followers by sharing unprecedented and fun details about her third pregnancy.
During her passage through the show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, the 43-year-old American actress revealed what has been the most “dismal” and unexpected symptom she has experienced at this stage: an exaggerated sharp sense of smell.
The Oscar winner, who has been married since 2012 to jewel designer Adam Shulman —with whom she already has two children, Jonathan and Jack — explained that this third pregnancy has been radically different from the previous ones. While in her first pregnancy fatigue was the protagonist, in this opportunity olfactory acuity took control completely.
With her usual sense of humor, Hathaway stated to the public that her sensory perception came to the extreme of making her feel that she could “love time.”
“You don’t just smell this summer, you smell it all.I went back to the 80s,” she joked, comparing her daily routine during the press tours with a scene from the movie “Goodfellas.”
According to the report, the constant traction through the back corridors of hotels, kitchens, garbage containers and elevators filled with smells of service to the room turned his day-to-day into a permanent sensory bombardment. Even the fragrances and perfumes of her neighbors when greeting her were overwhelming.
The discovery of his condition happened just two and a half weeks before he started the promotional tour of the long-awaited sequel “The Devil Wears Prada 2”, in a year loaded with commitments that also includes the presentation of the films “The Odyssey” and the psychological thriller “Verity”. Among her current goals for the third quarter, the artist commented jokingly that her main goal in public is simply “not walking like a duck.”
Alongside this olfactory anecdote, the Hollywood star confessed in the podcast “Talk of the Townsends” another peculiar restriction: her doctor forbade her from participating in the popular challenge of the Hot Ones program —where celebrities eat alites with extremely spicy sauces — in the risk of inducing a premature birth, so she had to conform to utility alites.
