Mexican actress Kate del Castillo has culminated the recordings of the fourth season of “The Queen of the South” and through social networks shared how she lived this farewell to the recognized character that gave her international fame: “Teresa Mendoza”.

Once the filming of the Telemundo series was concluded, the artist went to her Instagram account to post a video in which she reflected on the experiences collected during her stay in Colombia.

“I want to apologize in advance if I feel sentimental, but it has been an incredible day, full of emotions. I am today finishing the fourth season of The Queen of the South, I am back in the department that has welcomed me for several seasons here in Colombia, which is already part of me, I feel colombian," the 53-year-old celebrity said.

According to her testimony, saying “goodbye” to “Teresa Mendoza” is not an easy task for the teachings she has given her since she joined the project beyond 2011.

“It’s a lot of emotions because it’s hard as an actress to find a character so gratifying, so beautiful, so full of contradictions, an anti-heroine in every sense,” she said.

Kate del Castillo took advantage of the microphones to thank all those people who made possible the realization of “The Queen of the South”, a project that crossed borders and conquered the viewers, even that will come to an end with this fourth season.

“Thank you Arturo Pérez Reverte because you created this character and you gave you the yes and your blessing for me to play one of your favorite characters, Teresa Mendoza, so thank you Arturo for writing something so beautiful; I hope to have reached the level,” he added.

However, the 53-year-old actress acknowledges that the biggest gift has been the affection and support the audience has given them over the years. “Without you ‘The Queen’ would be nothing,” she said in the audiovisual without being able to contain the cry.

Kate del Castillo ended her message by saying, “I’m sorry I’m so sentimental, but it’s tears of taste, of nostalgia, of fatigue too; I wanted to tell you that this is how things are when one ends up and that without you this would not have been possible. Thank you for following the Queen. I hope this season reaches their hearts as I each of my calls.”

The final season of “The Queen of the South” is scheduled to premiere in 2027 and her story confirms that the plot will follow “Teresa Mendoza” years after building a new life in Madrid, where she has a successful restaurant and enjoys a daily life with her daughter, Sofia, and her ally, Oleg. But a tragedy will change everything.
