With 2026 approaching, anticipation grows for the upcoming release of “Avengers: Doomsday,” starring Robert Downey Jr. and a growing cast of celebrities. Thanks to the latest trailer released by Marvel Studios, we now know that the film marks the return of the X-Men to the MCU. The third trailer for the film, directed by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, was released through platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and X, surprising audiences with the return of the mutant team and offering a glimpse into their importance to the plot. The short clip featured the characters Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops (James Marsden), and prominently featured the iconic X-Mansion. In the first scene, Charles and Erik are playing chess, while another shows Cyclops removing his visor and using a high-powered optic blast in the middle of a battle. The trailer concludes with the line most anticipated by fans of the saga: “The X-Men will return…,” putting an end to months of speculation. It's worth mentioning that while their names or characters weren't mentioned, Marvel Studios hasn't ruled out the appearance of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry), or Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) in the Russo brothers' production. The new trailer for “Avengers: Doomsday” confirms, once again, that audiences will be able to enjoy the return of iconic figures in the MCU. Let's remember that a previous trailer showed Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) as Captain America and another showed Chris Hemsworth in his role as Thor. The latter was accompanied by an emotional speech that went viral on social media: “Grant me the strength of all fathers, so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her, not as a warrior, but as warmth, to teach her not battle, but stillness, the kind I never knew,” he is heard saying.
