What should have been an unforgettable celebration ended up becoming one of the most striking images of the football weekend in Brazil. Jacy, captain of Coritiba, fell inside the locker room tunnel of the Couto Pereira stadium when he was trying to celebrate a goal in front of the fans during the match against Chapecoense for the Brazilian Championship.

The defender had scored what seemed like his team's second goal and ran towards the stands behind the goal. He took the ball, placed it under his shirt and went to celebrate with the fans.

Despite the severe scare, Jacy quickly returned to the grass, continued the celebration and knelt in front of the fans.

The action ended up having an even more unexpected outcome. The VAR, through the semi-automatic offside system, detected an irregular position in the previous play and the referee annulled the goal.

The footballer added that he tried to continue in the game, although the pain became unbearable.

"Then it started to hurt a lot, it started to limit my ability to change direction. I even asked to go back, but it hurt too much, so I couldn't continue, but other than that, I'm fine."

The player himself took the episode with humor.
