Marcelo Vieira began a new stage linked to football, this time away from the field and from the side of sports management. The former Brazilian full-back announced this Tuesday the creation of Doze Madrid Club de Fútbol, an initiative that, as he explained, arises after a long preparation process and an idea that he had been developing for some time.

The announcement was made through its social networks, where it also presented the visual identity of the project. The new team will have a shield with a predominance of purple and already has its own presence on Instagram under the motto: “Eleven on the field, Doze in the heart.”

For Marcelo, the birth of the club represents the beginning of a sports construction from a different perspective than the one he experienced during his career as a player.

"Today is a very special day for me because I can share something that we have been working on and dreaming about for a long time. Today Doze Madrid Club de Fútbol is born," said the former soccer player.

Although the team's sporting aspects, competitive structure and immediate plans have not yet been communicated, the Brazilian announced that the objective is to develop a proposal from its foundations.

A project that expands its link with sports management

Marcelo explained that behind this initiative there is a clear intention to begin a new path within football, supported by principles that he considers central to the development of the project.

"After so many years of living football from within, I really wanted to create a project that started from scratch, with enthusiasm, with values and with people who love this sport as much as I do. This is just the beginning. We are already here," he said.

The name chosen for the club brings together two personal references of the former player. On the one hand, the number 12, the number he used during his career at Real Madrid; on the other, the city where he built a large part of his professional career. The name also coincides with Group Doze, the holding company with which it maintains operations related to the administration of clubs and footballers.

Marcelo's commitment to sports management is not new. In 2017 it acquired the Azuriz Futebol Clube, an institution that participates in the Paranaense Championship in Brazil.

Years later, in 2023, it expanded that international presence with the purchase of CD Mafra from Portugal, an entity that currently competes in the Portuguese third division.

The presentation of Doze Madrid thus represents a new addition to the business journey of the former Brazilian international, who now adds his own club to a structure that already had a presence in different projects linked to football.
