Danny Leon took the skate to an unusual stage and starred in an unprecedented challenge at Riyadh Air Metropolitano. The Madrid athlete became the first person to travel with a patinette through the runway of a professional football goal.
The Red Bull and Olympic athlete in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 carried out the challenge in collaboration with Atlético Madrid, in an action that transformed for a few seconds a regulatory goal in a more than seven-meter skate riel.
The length used for the challenge has the official dimensions of a football goal: 7.32 meters wide and 2.44 meters high.
To the necessary speed, Leon used a winch, a system connected to a cable that allowed him to take momentum and reach the ramp with the speed and trajectory necessary to complete the journey.

The execution required precision from both the skater and the team involved in the preparation of the manoeuvre.
Courage Adams, Red Bull BMX athlete, was in charge of activating the system by means of a command and controlling Leon’s momentum during the tour.
From the field of play also was present Marc Pubill, footballer of the Atlético de Madrid and world champion with the Spanish team in the World Cup of the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The collaboration between the red-and-white club and the athlete allowed to take the skate to one of the most recognizable places of Spanish football and to turn a usual element of the playing field into part of the challenge.

For Danny León, the challenge had a special significance due to the relationship heins from a young age with football and skate.
“This project is very special for me because it brings together two of my great passions: football and skate. As a child I was going to football training skating, with the tacos boots put on, so being able to grind a goal at a stadium like the Riyadh Air Metropolitano is a dream made reality,” explained Danny León.
The maneuver not only required speed, but the athlete had to control his position on the table and maintain balance while he walked through the gateway.
The result was an action that combined two disciplines closely linked to urban and sports culture: football and skate.
This is not the first recent challenge played by Danny Leon. On August 12, the skater took advantage of the solar eclipse in Spain to make another jump during one of the most striking moments of the astronomical phenomenon.
The image was shared by the athlete himself on Instagram and quickly viralized on social networks, where it accumulated millions of reproductions.

Danny León is one of the leading Spanish referents of park and bowl skate. He has an extensive career in competitions and exhibitions, as well as having represented Spain in two editions of the Olympic Games.
Leon competed in Tokyo 2020 and later again represented Spain in Paris 2024, consolidating as one of the most recognized figures of skateboarding in his country.
Her trajectory also includes prominent participations in the O Marisquiño festival in Vigo, one of the main meetings of urban culture and sports of action in Spain.
Now, his journey over the breeze of a goal at the Metropolitano adds a new challenge to his career and expands the scenarios in which the skate can become the protagonist.
