On this occasion, Ryan García directly questioned Óscar de la Hoya after the promoter's statements in which he downplayed the agreed clash against the British Conor Benn.

The friction between the athlete and the director of Golden Boy Promotions intensified when De La Hoya publicly stated on his social networks that a rematch against Devin Haney would have represented a better commercial product than the fight against Benn.

Given this position, Ryan García expressed his disagreement during a conversation with journalist Ariel Helwani, pointing out that the businessman's words do not coincide with the support that an active monarch requires.

"I'm your fighter. You shouldn't say things like that. It doesn't make sense. I don't have any problem with you. What's the point of saying that? Trying to discredit me and make me look bad? "I don't understand why you talk about that. It's like: brother, collect your check and move on. What's the point? It doesn't make any sense. They're paying you. If they're paying you, why are you talking? It doesn't make sense," added the athlete in Helwani's space.

Beyond the discrepancies over the logistics and dissemination of the September show, the athlete revealed details about the current status of his exclusive representation contract. The 147-pound champion of the World Boxing Council explained that the current agreement with De La Hoya's company is in its final stages, which will allow him to restructure the management of his career in the medium term.

The champion of the green and gold organization confirmed that only one additional commitment remains under this shared representation format. In this regard, Ryan García detailed to Ariel Helwani the path his work team will take once it complies with the legal terms agreed with the development company.
