California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill this Monday that provides rebates of up to $3,500 to state residents who purchase their first electric car starting later this summer.
In a statement, the state government reported that, with Governor Newsom's signing of Bill SB 168, the instant rebate program for California zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) is created.
The new MyFirstEV program allocates $135.5 million toward a future of affordable green vehicles, with a match from participating automakers.
