To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence and Juneteenth, California launched a limited-time free pass program to state historic parks for residents.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California State Historical Parks is offering a special free version of the Historian's Passport, which normally costs $50 per year.

The pass is available to download from this weekend until Monday, July 6, and is valid until the end of 2026.
