The Department of Homeless and Housing Services, the novel entity in charge of addressing the issue of poverty, was unveiled by Los Angeles County.

County officials claimed that the new power will improve the oversight of the poor ' funding for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority ( LAHSA ) reported hundreds of millions of dollars in wasted funds as a result of the new department's creation.
