State Department announces availability of passports with Trump's image throughout the country
Passports with the image of Donald Trump to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States will be available nationwide
Since a special design on the US passport was announced in spring to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, which included an illustration of Donald Trump, the demand to acquire the temporary edition of the document required abroad for identification has been increasing, forcing the federal government to issue an additional batch of 250,000 to have them available in the 50 states of the country.
“As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary in July, the Department of State (DOS) is preparing to launch a limited number of specially designed US passports to commemorate this historic occasion,” Tommy Pigott, spokesman for the federal agency, said in an interview with Fox News Digital towards the end of April.
Later, at the beginning of this month, the DOS began issuing passports to all citizens who came to apply for them in person at the agency's facilities located in Washington, D.C.
However, anticipating that demand would exceed supply, the DOS opted to expand the edition of passports with a quarter of a million additional documents to thus allow the so-called “Patriot Passport” to be available throughout the country.
“In response to overwhelming demand, the State Department will make an additional 250,000 special commemorative passports available to the public.
“Americans across the country will now have the opportunity to apply for one of these additional special passports, known as the ‘Patriot Passport,’” the federal agency said in a message shared on platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
In addition to the image of Donald Trump posing standing with a serious face, with both fists resting on the presidential desk, another page of the limited edition passport included a painting of the founding fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.
Citizens in need of a passport who do not wish to include Trump's image in any space on the document can request it when completing the form where all their data will appear.
