Tropical Storm Elida could cause some damage to Southern California this week, especially with high waves along its coasts.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said that although the storm is not expected to make landfall, a high surf warning has been issued and is in effect from 5:00 p.m. from this Sunday until 11:00 p.m. this Tuesday, July 21.
According to NWS forecasts, the most intense effects of the storm will be felt in coastal areas, where the storm is expected to generate dangerous rip currents, with waves between 4 and 7 feet, and waves of up to 8 feet on south-facing beaches.
