Trump jokes about inviting Obama, Biden and Bush to watch a football game on TV
Trump unleashed the imagination of his detractors by suggesting what would happen if he invited Obama, Biden and Bush to watch an American football game.
President Donald Trump raised the idea of inviting former presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden and George Bush to watch an American football game on television and from the comfort of the White House.
During his participation in the “Storytime with the Second Lady” podcast, the New York magnate assumed a different role than the one he has played in recent weeks, intimidating by attacking Iran and Cuba for not agreeing to submit to his will.
While speaking with Usha Vance, wife of Vice President James David Vance, the most powerful man in Washington dared to propose meeting with three of the nation's last former leaders, but not to talk about politics, nor about their differences that have turned them into adversaries.
As strange as it may sound, Trump planned to summon them to enjoy one of the most popular sports at the national level.
"Maybe I should invite Barack Hussein Obama, Joe Biden, the Bushes... or Bush. Maybe I should invite some of them to watch a football game together. Wouldn't that be good news? The press would go crazy," he said.
Taking advantage of the disposition of the 80-year-old New Yorker, he was invited to narrate part of the content of the book “The Presidents Play!”, published by the White House Historical Association, since the objective was to learn a little about what some former presidents did during their free time.
Trump acknowledged that, when flipping through part of the publication, he was surprised to learn that Bill Clinton had an athletics track built in the White House so he could exercise there.
"I didn't know it until recently, but he had a running track built in the White House. I don't think I would ever do that. I don't see myself doing it. The truth is that he was a good guy. I really like Bill Clinton. I still like him," he said.
The contrast is that several of the recent former presidents have proven not to get along with Donald Trump, especially Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
In fact, during the inauguration of the Obama presidential center last month, Trump was the only living American president not to be invited to the event.
