The telephone and internet company Verizon announced this Tuesday, August 11, a reward of $25,000 for those responsible for the acts of vandalism that affected its service in Los Angeles and Southern California over the weekend.
In a statement, Verizon said the reward will be awarded for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who cut fiber optic cables, affecting thousands of customers in their critical wireless and landline communication services.
Acts of theft and vandalism against its infrastructure represent a direct threat to the safety and security of communities, emergency services, healthcare and all those who rely on critical communications.
