Buying at Costco without going through its huge hallways or loading large packages into the car will be an option for many more consumers in the United States. The store club chain expanded its Uber Eats delivery service to 47 states, up from just 17 in which it was previously available.
The expansion was announced on September 16 by Uber and Costco and incorporates 600 establishments to the platform. Partners can order from fresh food and supermarket purchases to home products and traditional items sold in large formats by Costco.
Orders can be requested for immediate delivery or scheduled for a different time, an alternative that turns Uber Eats into a new shopping channel for millions of Costco members.

The process runs directly from the Uber Eats app. The customer must search for Costco, select the nearby available store and add the products they want to buy.
Before completing the transaction, you must link your Costco membership account during the checkout. Then you can choose between on-demand or scheduled delivery and follow the purchase journey in real time from the app.
The coverage covers the 47 states in which Costco has a presence, according to the information spread with the launch. Rhode Island, West Virginia and Wyoming are the three states that currently do not have chain warehouses.
How to Get Costco Membership: Requirements, Prices and Benefits 2026
Eligible Costco members can get a 50% discount on an annual Uber One membership during the first year and a 20% discount in subsequent years.
In addition, for a limited period, Costco will sell Uber and Uber Eats gift cards with $100 in balance for $79.99, both at participating establishments and through Costco.com.
There is also an incentive aimed at those who still do not belong to the club: it will be possible to buy a Costco membership directly from Uber Eats and get a 30% discount on the first eligible order. The specific conditions of the promotions are shown in the application.

Another benefit can be especially attractive for those who make large purchases.
Uber One members can obtain orders without certain Uber fees on eligible supermarket and retail purchases above $60, although the promotion is limited to participating establishments and still taxes and other government charges may apply.
However, buying by Uber Eats does not necessarily mean paying exactly the same prices as within a Costco.
Uber explains in its help center that certain Costco orders may include an “Order Handling Fee” or management fee. When applied, the price that appears for some items within Uber Eats may be higher than the price of the physical store. There may also be delivery and service charges depending on the operation.
Therefore, before confirming a purchase it is advisable to review the final total shown by the application, especially if the main goal is to save.

The alliance between the two companies is not entirely new, but the jump from 17 to 47 states substantially changes its reach within the United States.
Costco currently has 641 stores between the United States and Puerto Rico, according to corporate data released by the company, and 600 U.S. establishments were integrated into Uber Eats with this expansion.
The deal is not limited to the United States. Costco already offers Uber Eats shopping in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France and Spain, a sign of how platforms traditionally associated with food delivery are also gaining ground in large supermarket and retail purchases.
