Mercedes-Benz is set to revamp its product lineup for 2027, with a comprehensive overhaul that will see the discontinuation of several models. Specifically, the German luxury automaker will be retiring three key vehicles that have been integral to its strategic focus on electrification, high-performance capabilities, and premium offerings.

Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has delayed its transition to electric vehicles, with the company now aiming to achieve full electrification by 2035, rather than its previously stated target.

Mercedes-Benz has included the EQE Sedan, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance, and the luxury Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV in its latest lineup.

Nissan is set to expand its lineup of hybrid vehicles in the North American market.

Mercedes-AMG has announced that production of its EQE variant will cease. This decision was confirmed by a company representative in a statement to Car and Driver.

Mercedes-Benz has initiated production of its electric vehicles in 2023, with the 2026 model marking the final iteration of this particular series. The company is currently reassessing its approach to showcasing its electric cars.

Mercedes-Benz has decided to discontinue the EQE due in part to the introduction of the new electric CLA, which is also aimed at a similar target market. The brand's strategy appears to be centered around electric vehicles with higher commercial appeal.

The Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance model will be discontinued in 2027. This sedan is powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine paired with plug-in hybrid technology, resulting in a total output of 791 horsepower and 1,055 pound-feet of torque.

Mercedes-AMG will not be discontinuing its use of combustion engines, as the sports division continues to develop V8 technology. This means that the S63 designation could potentially be revived in the future with a modified configuration.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is nearing its end, built on the EQS SUV platform and distinguished by Maybach's unique blend of luxury features, including premium materials, refined finishes, and enhanced comfort for rear-seat occupants.

Mercedes-Benz may adopt a more direct approach in integrating its next-generation Maybach electric vehicles into the company's lineup, potentially deviating from the existing strategy of positioning EQ as a standalone brand.

Mercedes-Benz had initially adopted a strategy of naming and designing electric models distinctly from their gasoline-powered counterparts, but shifting consumer behavior in the US market is prompting many manufacturers to reassess this approach.
