The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the voluntary recall of specific batches of frozen pasta sold at a major retail chain due to potential contamination with listeria.

A product recall has been issued by the health authority for Bettergoods brand paste, a Walmart exclusive product manufactured by Gias Foods, Inc., following the detection of bacteria in routine testing.

The US Food and Drug Administration issued a recall notice, stating that the withdrawal of a specific pasta product began on September 15 and concluded on October 1 in all Walmart stores nationwide. The affected product is Fettuccine Alfredo, an authentic Italian frozen lemon pasta, sold in 22-ounce quantities with a UPC code of 194346442706, packaged in yellow plastic containers.

Consumers who have purchased the product being withdrawn from the market are advised to either discard it or return it to the retailer for a refund. For further information or assistance, customers can contact the company directly at sales@giasfoods.com.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning regarding the consumption of foods contaminated with listeria, a bacterium that poses a significant health risk to vulnerable populations, including children, pregnant women, older adults, and individuals with compromised immune systems.
