According to the Bronx District Attorney's Office, a 64-year-old girl named as Lissette Soto Domenech, a native of Riverdale, Bronx, New York, was detained for allegedly keeping her children essentially confined to their homes between 2016 and 2025.

After receiving a number of unnamed tips, a child safety professional called 911 and went to the apartment. One of the kids when they were discovered weighed only 54 pounds, while the other 51, both of them, were significantly under their respective ages.

One of the children, who had been diagnosed with autism, previously received proper medical care or care, and the only items left in the house were child cereal, bottles, and toddler toys, which had no appropriate age-appropriate food.

Medical Treatment and Rehab

The children were taken to Montefiore Children's Hospital, where they needed three weeks of care.

The twins ' deceased father claimed that keeping them at home was a" crazy thing," while a neighbor claimed Domenech appeared to want them to "remain babies forever. "

In September 2017, Domenech began taking the kids after stopping them to the dentist in November 2016 by claiming she was homeschooling them. This was a result of a routine of persistent neglect and abuse, according to the prosecution.

Fees and legal trials

Domenech was accused of first-degree assault, wanton endangerment, endangering a child's welfare, and using a fake filing device.

Judge Audrey Stone of the Bronx Supreme Court set bail at$ 25, 000 in cash or$ 75, 000 in other funds, and the defendant is due back in court on February 4.
