Most of the 402 minors and young adults arrested for the July 4 riots in Orange County arrived from out of state, according to the Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD).
Authorities reported that, between 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3 and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, officers detained 402 people, primarily for incidents involving illegal fireworks and for refusing to disperse a declared unlawful assembly.
About half of the arrests occurred during a single incident, which occurred on the Balboa Peninsula.
