Bad Bunny’s global success continues to reach unprecedented milestones. The Puerto Rican star won his first Emmy award thanks to his acclaimed musical number during the Super Bowl, coronating in the prestigious category of Best Special Varieties (Live).

The mega-event, officially titled “Apple Music’s Super Bowl LX halftime show starring Bad Bunny,” consolidated as one of the Television Academy’s favourites by receiving a total of seven nominations.

In addition to the main award awarded to Benito and his team, the production swept into key categories of technique and creativity: musical direction, choreography, sound mix, lighting design, technical direction/camera work and direction.

Along with a star team of producers and directors, Bad Bunny managed to structure one of the most elaborate, complex and emotional presentations in the history of the NFL.

The Outstanding Show

The award-winning show highlighted its impeccable technical deployment, an impressive guest list and surprising appearances celebrating the diversity of Latin music and culture:

Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin: Among the show’s most acclaimed musical moments were the star performances of Lady Gaga, who rose to the stage to share a memorable duet, and Latin music legend Ricky Martin, who brought strength and Caribbean identity to the presentation.

Stars united in “La Casita”: The production mounted in the middle of the stadium a Latin party replica where international figures like Cardi B, Karol G, Pedro Pascal, Young Miko and Jessica Alba made surprise appearances, adding to the festive and community atmosphere.

Community and real business on screen: As a unique touch of authenticity, the staging integrated a real live wedding and the presence of local business owners. Among them, the Villa’s Tacos team (an emblematic Los Angeles restaurant) highlighted the work and identity of the community.

Beyond statuettes and visual deployment, the concept behind the presentation sought to convey a profound message of pride and community connection. In statements to Variety magazine, the event’s creative director, Harriet Cuddeford, explained the vision that led this show to win the Emmy:

“The performance celebrates ordinary people, which means being human, loving, having joy and appreciating each other. The aim was to show how much he values his community, celebrate the ordinary people on the world’s largest stage, especially the important people in Latin culture. Benito is a very authentic person, and it’s just about being authentic, real and very human.”
