More than half a century after their last concert on the rooftop of Apple Corps, The Beatles are once again capturing the world's attention. This time, it won't be through music, but through film. Sony Pictures has revealed the first images of 'The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event', an ambitious project directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes, promising an unprecedented look at the legend of the “Fab Four”. The premise is as audacious as the band's legacy: four interconnected biographical films, each focusing on a specific member of The Beatles. The cast brings together some of the most prominent British talent of the moment: Oscar nominee Paul Mescal portrays the young Paul McCartney; Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon in his later years, close to the 'Let It Be' sessions; fellow Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan embodies Ringo Starr, capturing his iconic style and the 1968 period; and Joseph Quinn portrays George Harrison in the late sixties. The promotional photographs confirm the meticulous characterization work. From McCartney's iconic bowl cut, sported by Mescal, to Lennon's round glasses and flowing locks, Dickinson's resemblance to the historical figures is remarkable. A stellar cast that goes beyond the band. The Beatles universe wouldn't be complete without the figures who surrounded them. The cast expands with top-tier names who will bring key associates to life: Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey. Rounding out the cast are James Norton as visionary manager Brian Epstein and Harry Lloyd as brilliant producer George Martin. Sam Mendes, who announced the project at last year's CinemaCon, described it as "the first singable cinematic experience" and a unique opportunity to "understand them a little more deeply."

Although plot details—such as the exact period each film will cover or the degree of overlap between them—are being kept under wraps, production is confirmed to be underway.

The world premiere of this four-part cinematic event is scheduled for April 2028, offering a new generation—and longtime fans—an intimate and multifaceted look at the band that defined an era, from the explosion of Beatlemania to their breakup in 1970 and the enduring legacy of McCartney and Starr, the two surviving members.

The wait will be long, but the first images suggest the journey promises to be extraordinary. The Beatles, once again, are poised to land in popular culture with renewed force.
