The Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) confirmed that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) agent who fatally shot and killed 37-year-old U. S. citizen Renee Good in Minneapolis on January 7 has been suspended pending an investigation.

Although the launch date for the suspension was not specified, a DHS spokesperson said that Jonathan Ross had been given an administrative depart. In addition, two additional officials who were in Minnesota at the time of Alex Pretti's death were suspended while investigations are ongoing.

Renee Good's passing

Renee Good passed away during an ICE activity that sparked protests against President Donald Trump's immigration policies in Minneapolis and other U. S. places, fueled primarily by the" No Kings" activity. The mother's dying and the lack of immediate medical care were denounced by demonstrators.

Good reportedly attempted to run over an agent with her car, prompting Ross to fire at least three shots, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Noem assured CNN that the broker followed his instructions to guard both himself and the people. The representative was backed by Vice President JD Vance, who claimed he had "absolute immunity" for his behavior. Criticism of the Federal Investigation: Minnesota state officials have criticized the FBI's research into Good's death, claiming they were barred from obtaining information. The native prosecutor's office was given an urgent court order to stop DHS and governmental agencies from destroying or altering Pretti's death-related information. Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee requested a civil rights investigation into Good's suicide on Wednesday. The first refusal by the DOJ to look into this situation "is indicative" and reflects a inclination within the organization to promote the Trump administration's mass deportation agenda over the protection of civil rights, according to the senators.
