A 30-year-old girl was detained on Sunday after allegedly shooting a shotgun at pop singer Rihanna's Beverly Hills, California mansion. Initial reports indicated that the song was inside the home at the time of the attack.

The Los Angeles Police Department ( LAPD ) responded to an emergency call following the shooting, according to Page Six, which was reported at 1:12 p. m. ( local time ). A police spokesperson confirmed to the California Post that the suspect had been apprehended swiftly by soldiers. Authorities established that at least one shot reportedly pierced a wall in the residence.

Images taken at the scene showed yellowish police tape lopping off the private street in front of the singer's home as well as several officers entirely closing it off.

No accidents

No accidents were reported during the incident, LAPD spokesperson Sergeant Jonathan de Vera told the Los Angeles Times. Furthermore, a source close to the artist's family reassured the press, stating that everyone is fine. According to the police report and the 911 audio, "approximately 10 shots" were heard coming from a vehicle parked across the street. Following the shooting, the vehicle involved, described as a white Tesla, fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive, leading to a pursuit and the subsequent arrest of the suspect. As of this writing, the motive for the shooting is unknown. It has also not been revealed whether rapper A$AP Rocky, the singer's partner, and their three children—RZA, three; Riot Rose, two; and baby Rocki Irish Mayers, just five months old—were at the residence at the time of the incident. However, this is not the first security incident the artist has faced at her properties. In 2018, a man identified as Eduardo Leon broke into her former Hollywood Hills residence while she was away. The intruder managed to jump a fence and camped inside for about 12 hours before being discovered, which earned him a ten-year restraining order.
