The Executive Branch requested the Treasury Department to halt producing pennies earlier this year, but because of the cost of minting pennies, the final copies were produced on November 12th, and because of this, the next copies were produced on November 12.

This decision, along with other measures, may have an impact on some businesses that include retail stores, shops, grocery stores, restaurants, among others, that are currently required to change their prices.

Among the businesses that have already made changes as a result of the lack of one-cent currencies are:

McDonald’s

The nation's largest fast-food restaurant chain announced that it would increase the price of its food for customers who just made money payments.

Wendy's

The company stated in a statement that" we have instructed our cafes to large cash transactions down to the nearest metal" if there is a lack of pennies. In many of Sheetz's businesses, the company has already started promoting contactless payments and has offered discounts for customers who bring$ 1 in cash. Customers at Kroger have asked to think about giving their actual transform when paying in cash. It will still take shillings, though. Giant Eagle is holding situations where coins can be exchanged for donation accounts. According to him," This strategic measure allows the company to maintain accuracy and justice while the U.S. state is awaiting official guidance on coming round techniques."
