President Donald Trump attacked veteran conservative Mitch McConnell, calling his job as a senator terrible.

During a meeting with the press held in the Oval Office, the head of the nation acknowledged being unhappy with the position taken by the 84-year-old legislator in opposing the approval of a third reconciliation budget package to use at least $200 billion dollars from supplementary funds in the war against Iran.

"McConnell is an angry man. You know, he was kicked out of his position [as Senate Republican leader]. He's an angry guy. He should be very grateful to me because if I hadn't won, he wouldn't have gotten to this point," he said.

Trump even took credit for the appointment of judges, subtracting all credit from the senator from Kentucky as he had been preaching.

"He gets credit for appointing judges, but he didn't appoint anyone. I did it. I won the election and then I elected the judges, and the judges ended up being approved and they said, 'Oh, wow, what a good job he did! He didn't do a good job. What the hell did he do? I won the election! If I hadn't succeeded, he wouldn't have had any judges.'" he stressed.

In addition, the New York magnate described McConnell as someone disloyal to John Thune, Senate majority leader and who replaced him as Republican head of the upper chamber.

"He is an angry and very disloyal man. John Thune was a loyal worker for Mitch McConnell. He worked very hard. He was very loyal to him," he stressed.

Trump also criticized the long-serving congressman for having supported the Democrats with resources that would have facilitated the construction of the border wall during his first stage at the helm of the White House.

"I very much disagree with him. He gave a lot of money to the Democrats. I had to get the money from the army for the [border] wall. I just took it out of the army because that guy didn't do anything," he emphasized.

It should be noted that McConnell will retire before the new Congress begins in January and thus put an end to the disagreements that arose with Trump.
