In light of recent statements from US President Donald Trump that described Mexico as the "epicenter" of assault on the globe and that he has been linked to the control of drug cartel, past political candidate Cuauhtemoc Cardenas Solorzano cautioned that there is a chance of a US involvement in the country.

The Party of the Democratic Revolution's leader claimed that the president's responses reflect an anti-Mexican attitude that could lead to further diplomatic angst.

In the event of an unapproved action, he affirmed that the danger exists and that it would be required to calmly assess the potential political and social reactions.

At the beginning of the" Conversations" line, a space dedicated to dialogue with figures in federal public life, Cardenas spoke with historian and researcher Sergio Aguayo Quesada, representative of the Conference on Violence and Peace at El Colegio de Mexico.

He was asked his opinion on the risks Mexico faces in the meeting, based on the statements made by the US leader, who reiterated during a conference with continent-leaders that the nation has become the center of local hostility. According to Cardenas, Trump's statements were "very rude" and reflected a blatantly negative attitude toward Mexico. The politician, who has run for president three times, said he is unsure how a international interference may come about or what the Latino government's or various social sectors ' reactions would be. He reaffirmed that he would take a stand in opposition to any unnecessary disturbance. He even argued that a similar activity would elicit responses both within Mexico and the United States. both Latino communities and US citizens who might object to a measure he characterized as unlawful and contrary to the relationship between the two nations.
