California Governor Gavin Newsom challenged the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate Trump's allies, after denouncing that the federal agency is carrying out a politically motivated investigation against his wife and her associates.
The governor's office sent a letter to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche accusing the DOJ of taking action against Newsom and his family members.
The letter was sent a day after Newsom publicly denounced that he and his wife were targets of a Trump administration investigation, alleging that the Justice Department had requested records, interviewed people related to them and reviewed documents.
