US President Donald Trump stated this Monday that there are already ships, many of them loaded with oil, that are beginning to leave the Strait of Hormuz.

"Ships are beginning to leave the Strait of Hormuz, many of them loaded with oil. They are sailing along the 'southern route', which is totally safe and in perfect condition. In addition, there are other transit routes," he said on his network, Truth Social, a day after announcing the scope of a pact with Iran to end the conflict.

The Republican leader published his message while he is on his way to the G7 summit in Évian (France), which will be held until Wednesday and where the conflict in Iran has taken center stage of the day.

Trump had announced the pact with Tehran the day before, his 80th birthday.

"The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to everyone! I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and, simultaneously, authorize the immediate lifting of the United States naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines! Let the oil flow!" he wrote on Truth Social on Sunday, without offering further details of the agreement.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country has acted as mediator, confirmed this Monday that Pakistan will preside over its ratification ceremony on Friday in Geneva (Switzerland).

Iran also stated today that the memorandum of understanding reached contemplates the release of blocked Iranian assets and the lifting of all sanctions against the Islamic Republic, while “guaranteeing” Tehran's sovereignty over Hormuz. EFE
