Federico Valverde will not be able to compete in the upcoming friendly matches of Uruguay due to an injury to the left hip he suffered during the derby against Atlético Madrid.
The Uruguayan Football Association confirmed on Tuesday that the midfielder of Real Madrid will be down for the matches against Japan, South Korea and India, corresponding to the next FIFA date.
Real Madrid's medical services diagnosed the footballer with a grade 3 squint in the left hip, so the coach Diego Forlán decided to call in his place Emiliano Martínez, Palmeiras midfielder.
The Uruguayan player will immediately travel to Miyagi, Japan, where the national team will begin their concentration.

Real Madrid announced the diagnosis after performing medical tests to the player.
