Vergil Ortiz Jr. and his team don't want to fight his child second, according to Robert" Bozy" Ennis, father and coach of Jaron" Boots" Ennis.
Bozy Ennis confirmed to DAZN that they are interested in a fight with Ortiz Jr. and hopes it will be finalized shortly.
" From what it seems, they don't want to struggle," they say. But we can advance. We desire the conflict. It's a wonderful battle, in my opinion, for both of them. You didn't deny that Vergil is a great warrior. He has supportive family members behind him. We'll see, he said.
" I believe that whatever happens ( when they fight ), if Vergil is as good as everyone thinks, you'll see" Boots" step up. They haven't seen anything as of yet. They haven't seen anything that Boots you would. He's been knocking them out by education with heavyweights and mild superstars, he continued.
Promoter Eddie Hearn claims that the Mexican-American's signature is all that is needed for this battle to be completed. Although Oscar De La Hoya made it abundantly clear that they will simply consent to the struggle if the circumstances favor Ortiz Jr.
Remember that Boots preferred not to fight at the time that Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz Jr. were engaged in conversations to fight at 147 weight. Both groups exchanged threats after this, but it now appears that this conflict will take place.
Ortiz Jr. finished Lubin in the next round of his last battle without showing any mercy to him. Ennis, in contrast, made a magnificent 154-pound album by defeating Uisma Lima in the first round and winning the WBA time tournament.
Vergil Ortiz Jr., 24, has already defended his Cd time super welterweight title against anyone.
The Mexican-American athlete maintains his unbeaten history after 23 fights, 21 of which were knockouts during his professional career. Jaron" Boots" Ennis, 27, also made a strong comeback at 154 weight and was a former integrated IBF and WBA welterweight hero. After 36 conflicts, 31 of which were knockout, the American warrior is unbeaten.
