Arraez arrives with the offensive profile that Philadelphia was looking for: an exceptional contact hitter. He has been selected to the All-Star Game four times and aims to once again finish among the players with the lowest strikeout rate in the Major Leagues.

In 2024 he was traded from Miami to San Diego and ended up winning his third consecutive batting title, something he achieved with three different franchises. He closed that season with a .314 average before becoming a free agent and signing with San Francisco in February.

Harper celebrated the incorporation of the Venezuelan and highlighted his ability to put the ball into play. "He's someone who has won batting titles and can be really good for us. I'm definitely excited," he said.
