An extreme heat alert is in effect in Southern California because this Wednesday is the day of the week with the highest temperatures in the region.

The National Weather Service (NWS) urged residents to take appropriate precautions, given the forecast of triple-digit thermometer records.

“It will be stiflingly hot in the valleys, high mountain areas and inland, with highs ranging between 100 and 110 degrees,” NWS specialists said in a report.
