President Donald Trump shared some images of what the statues of Washington look like that he ordered to be covered in 23-karat gold leaf with the aim of beautifying the entrance to the Arlington Memorial Bridge.

Through a publication on the Truth Social platform, the 80-year-old Republican showed a preview of the result of having allocated nearly $5,000,000 to change the appearance of the two imposing bronze horse statues from the “Arts of War” series in Washington D.C.

The pair of monumental pieces were created in gilded bronze by American artist Leo Friedlander who decided to call them “Value” and “Sacrifice.”

Although they were ordered to be made since 1929, the unprecedented economic crisis that prevailed that year globally delayed their financing for a decade and over the course of a long period their models remained in storage.

However, another 12 years had to pass before they were ready until they were erected in 1951.

The statues were later restored in 1974, eight years after the death of their creator.

Despite continuing to look impressive, Trump ordered “Courage” and “Sacrifice” to be re-beautified so that the sun's rays can literally make them shine.

Regarding the so-called Rose Garden, the New York magnate ordered it to be paved and stone tiles and patio areas placed over sections of the traditional lawn.

It also required remodeling the private bathrooms, replacing original structures with marble surfaces and gold details.

However, to start his greatest work, it was necessary to demolish the East Wing of the White House, since that is where a ballroom in the style of the great European courts of approximately 8,000 square meters will be built.
