Four immigrants died in detention centers in four different American states in just four days while they were being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) there.

Between December 12 and December 15, there were no incidents. At least 32 deaths were recorded in ICE infrastructure in 2025, according to official statements from the organization, according to Newsweek's report.

The second incident occurred on December 12 when Haitian national Jean Wilson Brutus, 41, passed away at Newark University Hospital in New Jersey.

CPR was initiated by doctors and requested outside assistance, but they were able to save his career.
