The Patrol The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed in a statement that the accident occurred at 12:43 p.m. this Sunday near mile marker 62 of the Angeles Crest Freeway, in the Altadena area. According to reports, Zampella, 55, was driving a Ferrari when he crashed into a concrete barrier, causing the sports car to burst into flames.
