About half of the decomposing food has been removed from the warehouse in Boyle Heights, amid hundreds of protests over the bad smell originating from the burned facility, the Lineage company said.

In a statement issued this Saturday, the company assured that almost half of the 85,000 tons of stored products were removed from the site in deodorized and sealed containers.

“Today we will begin scraping and pressure washing the concrete slab, and we expect demolition and cleanup of the remaining burned structure to be largely complete in the coming days,” Lineage Logistics reported.
