Los Angeles County announced this Thursday an additional investment of $250,000 in a food cart program for street vendors.

The president of the county Board of Supervisors, Hilda Solís, made the announcement of the program during an event at the Maravilla Civic Center, in East Los Angeles, where carts were given free of charge to seven vendors who met all the requirements of the program.

In a press release, Solis presented the additional investment for the mobile food cart program, stating that vendors are an important part of the local culture and economy in Los Angeles County.
