Los Estados Unidos esta en un momento decisivo: es hora de exigirle cuentas a ICE
Denise Powell, candidata al Congreso por Nebraska, expone porque la administracion Trump quiere hacer creer que operativos de ICE son para seguridad de EE.UU.
In large light, a mom and an intensive care nurse were murdered in Minnesota. On a spring day, an old gentleman was dragged from his house by a blanket over his shoulders. While his mother wept and begged for identification, a short-sleeved girl was handcuffed while his mother pleaded for his passport.
A five-year-old son was taken as bait and transported to a detention facility in another state while wearing a hare hat and carrying a Spider-Man suitcase.
Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, and Kristi Noem want us to think that everything is done for our health and well-being. They claim that the crime we are seeing is not authentic.
They are deceitful.
Like some Latinos, I have a unique view on this subject. I am the child of refugees from Cuba and Chile. My primary language was Spanish. When I was about the same time as the child in the hare hat, I learned English in school.
It breaks my heart to think their anxiety as a family. I want our roads and schools to be safe for our kids, like all parents. I hold my breath until my kids text me to let you know that they are properly at a friend's house. And as a result, I was taught to use my tips in my hands to protect myself when I went to bed at nighttime. I carry my U. S. id with me now to defend myself from my own government, like many others in our neighborhoods.
I want to sit in a secure neighborhood and keep harmful offenders out of our streets, just like everyone else. However, Trump's plan doesn't make us safer. It has only caused fear in families, hurt the local market, and prevented a important discussion about fixing our crumbling immigration system.
Trump has used ICE as his private police power to repress those who disagree with him. Immigration protection is not concerned with that. That is dictatorship.
In almost 40 years, Congress hasn't changed immigration rules. This leadership is detaining people right here in the center of our position in contrast to fixing the system by conducting military-style raids on factory plants, breaking into homes without permits, arresting protesting religious leaders, and detaining individuals in the name of order.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has terrorized full areas by using ICE to discriminate against Latinos and Spanish speakers. She has violated the law by allowing illegal searches and the person's lengthy confinement without charge and without access to legal counsel. Punishments have taken place in depressing circumstances, with little or no access to facilities, food, or water. The majority of those detained, according to reports, have no criminal history. Some people emigrated to this country legally and abided by all laws. Their only" crime" appears to be their skin's colour, their name, or their voice.
In response to ICE agents shooting an armed British mother of three in the face, I demanded Noem's impeachment. Noem's behavior is unacceptable, unlawful, and clearly in contravention of her vow. She has ruined the trust of the people in the Department of Homeland Security. She may be held responsible.
In Congress, I'll hold those responsible who defy the law and abuse their authority culpable.
I will battle for comprehensive immigration reform, true border security, and mass attacks that place legitimate residents and citizens in jails. I may hold accountable those who violate women's rights, including prosecuting ICE providers and leaders who act in a secret manner. I'll work to pass laws that allow immigrants to have legitimate pathways and retain families together. And I will fight any Republican or Democrat leadership that violates our basic rights.
I was taught by my kids that this country's potential was real. They taught me what it means to start from scratch and supply back to the community that has given us a lot. Additionally, they taught me how to talk out against injustice.
Our kids are eager to see how we will struggle for the nation they deserve. The US is at a turning point. Can we be a nation that upholds the values and vows? embodied in the Constitution, or one that deviates from dictatorship. Which aspect do I belong to?
Now is the time to battle for the American guarantee if we want it to have any significance.
