Southern California Edison pays more than 1,200 residents affected by Eaton Fire
The electric service company offers compensation to victims of the Eaton fire, which occurred in Altadena in January 2025, with a simplified program
Southern California Edison (SCE) announced a new round of payments to more than 1,200 residents who claimed damages as a result of the Eaton Fire through the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program.
SCE is accused of causing the Eaton fire, due to an alleged failure in its facilities, on the afternoon of January 7, 2025 in the Altadena area of Los Angeles.
“Each payment represents a step forward for someone after the Eaton Fire,” said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, SCE's parent company, in a statement.
