Mojtaba Jamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, urged Muslim countries to band together and fight the United States and Israel, two places he described as Islam's adversaries.
“My repeated and emphasizing recommendation to the rulers of Islamic countries, in particular those in the West Asian region and along the Persian Gulf, is that they should know who their real enemy is, understand their plots and confront them,” Jamenei said in a statement posted on his social media.
The religious leader made the claim that" the false Zionist government of Israel and the criminal rulers of the United States are fierce opponents" of cooperation and connection between Islamic nations, and that they are attempting to cause unrest between Iran's and other Muslim nations.
“They are not only enemies of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation, as well as of the widespread Islamic resistance front; they also host animosity towards the entire Muslim community, including the nations of Western Asia and North Africa,” he said. “Would the Palestinian nation be so defenseless, subjected to oppression and the crimes of the occupants, if the Muslims were united, striking their fists with force?” he asked.
