President Donald Trump's plan to host a Mixed Martial Arts performance on one of the White House lawns to commemorate Flag Day and his birthday is going as planned.

The assembly of the octagon where the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cards usually take place has already begun on the south lawn of the presidential complex.

In this way, as part of the agenda to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the so-called “UFC Freedom Fights 250” is scheduled to take place on June 14.

The evening will include five fights, of which the main one will be a duel between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje where the lightweight title will be in dispute.

According to UFC directors, the millionaire prizes to be distributed among the winners of the fights will be covered in their entirety by Crypto.com.

Three weeks in advance, the first structures of a huge stage have been placed that can be seen from the north garden of the White House, as it rises above the West Wing and the Oval Office.

A few days ago, Trump made a commitment that tickets to see this show would be free for the thousands of people gathered on the south lawn.

"Our country is invited, it's free. They are going to install eight giant screens and they are going to have the fight. And out here, we will have 4,000 seats right in front of the main door of the White House," said the president, sitting in the Oval Office, where he received a visit from the UFC gladiators who were scheduled to fight on a historic night for American politics and sports.

“That President Trump is organizing it at the White House is proof of his vision for celebrating the monumental 250th anniversary of the United States,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement.

Allowing thousands of people access to the White House grounds will mean mounting an unprecedented security operation, since the head of the nation will be exposed and so far little has been said about the measures to be implemented on June 14.
