US 250th anniversary: ??Washington prepares the biggest fireworks show
More than 850 thousand pyrotechnic effects will illuminate Washington during the celebration towards Independence Day
Washington, D.C. is getting ready to experience one of the most ambitious celebrations in its history. The Freedom 250 organization announced an unprecedented spectacle for Independence Day, with more than 850,000 pyrotechnic effects that will illuminate the sky over the National Mall as part of the celebrations leading up to the 250th anniversary of the United States.
According to the organizers, the show will last approximately 35 minutes, almost double that of a traditional Fourth of July show, and can be seen from different points in the US capital.
Fireworks will be launched from multiple locations around the National Mall, West Potomac Park and the Potomac River, with iconic monuments such as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol serving as the main stage.
There will be air displays, music and military tributes
The pyrotechnic display will close “Salute to America,” the main event organized by Freedom 250 to commemorate the anniversary of American independence.
Throughout the day there will be presentations by the Air Force Thunderbirds, the Navy Blue Angels, demonstrations of aircraft such as the F-22 Raptor, the F-35B Lightning II and the MV-22 Osprey, as well as military parades, patriotic concerts, speeches and tributes to veterans.
“For 250 years, America has been defined by the courage of those who built this nation and the optimism of those who believed in its promise,” said Keith Krach, executive director of Freedom 250.
The manager added that the show seeks to become a tribute to the country's history and a message of unity for millions of Americans.
For his part, Stephen Vitale, executive director of Pyrotecnico, the company in charge of the show, said that participating in this celebration represents “an incredible honor” and an opportunity to create “memories for a lifetime.”

Organizers expect hundreds of thousands of people to flock to Washington to witness one of the largest Fourth of July events, while millions more will be able to follow the celebration from different streaming platforms.
