On September 17, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the withdrawal of approximately 195,000 JKMAX electric covers and heat pillows due to fire and burn risks.
The products were sold exclusively through Amazon.com between September 2022 and July 2026, both individually and in packages of two units.
The problem lies in internal heating elements. According to the CPSC, the cables used to generate heat can overheat, which can cause the blankets or pillows to start smoking, melt, or even burn. This represents risks of fire and injury for those who use them.
The magnitude of incidents is considerable. JKMAX received 577 reports of products that smoked, melted or burned due to overheating. Among those cases, 53 were injured by burns, according to the federal agency.

The alert includes all electric blankets and thermal pillows sold by JKMAX included in the CPSC notice.
The products were marketed in various sizes and in blue, gray, brown and red colors. They are made from polyester fabric, can be washed by machine and include a disassembly white remote control to regulate temperature.
The model number can be found on the back of the remote control. It also appears on a white label placed on the original packaging, next to the JKMAX brand name.
Those who have purchased a JKMAX electric blanket or heating pad on Amazon during the affected period should check that information before using it again.

The CPSC recommendation is clear: consumers should immediately stop using the blankets and pillows included in the withdrawal.

Amazon also has a section called “Recalls and Product Safety Alerts”, accessible from the bottom of its site, where customers can consult information about products withdrawn.

The approximately 195,000 affected products were imported by Jiande Pengshuai Trading Co., Ltd., from China, according to official information. CPSC withdrawal identification number is 26-778.
Federal law prohibits the sale of products that have been subject to a withdrawal from the market. The CPSC also recommends consumers to consult its official recalls database if they have doubts about the safety of an item purchased online.
