Burlington prepares new store in Miami with renewed format: where it will be and when it opens
The discount chain will open another location on South Dixie Highway on August 20, with more organized spaces and its new store concept
Burlington will open a new store in Miami on August 20, 2026, as part of the strong expansion that the discount chain is developing this year in the United States. The establishment will be located at 8380 South Dixie Highway, in the Dadeland Station area, and will arrive with the new concept of smaller, more organized stores that the company is expanding throughout the country.
The new Burlington will be in one of the main commercial corridors in southern Miami, very close to a location that the chain itself already operates on South Dixie Highway.
The opening is especially striking due to this proximity: there is currently another Burlington at 8607 S Dixie Highway, while the new one will be at 8380 South Dixie Highway. The company's official directory confirms both locations.

When does the new Burlington in Miami open?
The grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026, according to Burlington's official page dedicated to the new establishment.
The exact address is 8380 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33143. The establishment is currently listed on the Burlington site as “Coming Soon,” with an opening date of August 20.
The location is adjacent to Dadeland Station, the shopping complex on South Dixie Highway.
What hours will the new Burlington have?
Burlington has also already published the planned hours for the establishment. From Sunday to Thursday it will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., while on Fridays and Saturdays it will have longer hours: from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at midnight.
The store page also indicates that, at least initially, it will not have a layaway service or Amazon Pickup.
The new Burlington will be very close to another store in the chain
A particularity of this opening is that Burlington already has a store a few hundred meters away. The facility at 8607 S Dixie Highway remains operational and is listed in the company's official directory. Its usual hours extend until 11:00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The company has not publicly announced in the information consulted that this store is going to close, so it is not appropriate to present the new location as a transfer or replacement.
In fact, Burlington has a considerable presence in Miami. Its official directory currently counts 15 establishments in the city, although that number includes the location at 8380 South Dixie Highway that has not yet opened.
What the new Burlington format will be like
The inauguration coincides with a transformation that Burlington is carrying out to practically its entire network. The company calls the initiative Store Experience 2.0 and seeks to leave behind part of the traditional image of large stores full of clothes racks.
The new design focuses on more open spaces, better organized aisles and more visible signage, with the aim of making it easier for buyers to find products and offers.
But the change goes beyond the decoration. Burlington is reducing the average size of its new stores and seeking to have each establishment generate higher sales per square foot. In its fiscal first quarter 2026 results presentation, management explained that growth is occurring through smaller, more productive locations.
The company had previously confirmed that all new openings would use the updated format, while the majority of older stores would be progressively converted.

Burlington wants to transform its stores before the end of 2026
The renovation is progressing rapidly. Burlington indicated that it hopes to complete the Store Experience 2.0 program throughout the chain before the end of 2026. The company maintains that the establishments that have already been remodeled received a positive response from customers and recorded an improvement in sales.
Burlington CEO Michael O'Sullivan explained to analysts that the chain's traditional experience could be difficult to navigate due to the large number of racks, while the new concept seeks to make the stores more attractive and easier to shop.
That model will be the one that customers find in the new openings.
Burlington accelerates its expansion in the United States
The Miami store is not an isolated opening either. Burlington opened 40 new stores during the first fiscal quarter of 2026 and plans to add approximately 115 net establishments throughout the year, according to the company's latest forecasts collected after its quarterly results.
The longer-term goal is even more ambitious: Burlington hopes to surpass 1,500 stores by the end of 2028. By then, more than 80% of its stores will have been opened, relocated or reduced in size since 2019.
The strategy thus combines two movements: opening more establishments and, at the same time, operating smaller and more efficient stores.
